Do the Mavs have a simple solution for their backup rotation situation?
There have been a lot of talk about them running after a scrub to be the backup PF for Dirk because if Thomas's departure. But they could use two backup lineups of possible. What do you think of these?
Their starters when healthy will be,
C- Haywood/ PF- Dirk/ SF- Butler/ SG- Beabouis/ PG- Kidd
Their backup lineup could be,
Smaller lineup: C- Chandler/ PF- Marion/ SF- Dominique Jones/ SG- Terry/ PG- Barea
Jones has the strength and muscle to be a undersized (by height) small forward for them. He is pretty strong and at least he would get to play and develop.
Larger backup lineup: C- Chandler/ PF- Mahinmi/ SF- Marion/ SG- Terry/ PG- Barea
They could use either lineup whenever they feel like, and it is much better than running after scrubs like Cardinal, Simmons, and Novak. Plus the two players I inserted (Jones and Mahinmi) would get playing time and development that way.
It's really as simple as that. It's not that hard. What do you think?
