Once we are finally clicking, Caron has to get hurt. This is but another chapter in our long history of always getting screwed. Oh well.
The real point of this post was to point out that tonight was the 6th straight game Dirk has missed. In his storied career with Dallas, this is the longest consecutive game streak he has missed. I just feel it a bit ironic that he has missed more time on this injury, one that was called "Day-to-day" than he does when he has a more serious injury, and the Mavs report he will be out a few weeks.
I believe Dallas can get back on track. The loss of Caron is a blow, but soon we will have Roddy back. With the return of Roddy, and the stepping up of Shaun Marion, it looks like Dallas can find a way to compensate for Caron being out on the offensive end. On the defensive end, hopefully Stevenson can step up and play good D, which is a huge reason he is on the roster. If Chandler can keep this pro-defensive feeling alive in Dallas, the loss of Caron can be one Dallas can overcome and continue its path to what we all hope will be a first NBA title.
But lets not get ahead of ourselves. It is still January and we have lost 4 of our last 6...
Now, more than ever,
GO MAVERICKS!
