according to those stats,
they could just give Mahinmi all of Butler’s minutes and it’s a wash.
I found it a little misleading that both Kidd and Chandler are more valuable than Dirk though. And that DoJo and JJ should never play since they produce only losses.
or maybe I read that wrong,
and Mahinmi has the same value on the bench as Butler has on the court.
small samples (here mahinmi& dojo’s minutes) warning.
Of course you could give Ian all of Butler’s minutes, except you can’t, he would foul out way before.
Also, there’s this dude called Coach….
Wins produced has a very direct correlation to productivity. It’s not flawless, but certainly somewhat useful.

a lot of people spread that rumor about Mahinmi’s fouls. But the fact is, he fouls less per 48 minutes than Chandler.
I think I’ll start inventing statistical analysis. I’m sure I could make one that would put Dirk ahead of Kidd and Chandler, which to me would be more accurate.
I look his last full game, in the loss against the Spurs when he was basically the only one that showed up offensively with 30 points on 10-21 fg and 9-9 ft. And last year in the playoffs when he averaged around 20 a game despite getting benched in game 3 and don’t see the correlation of the formula that makes him look like he won’t be missed.
I spoke too quick on Mahinmi's fouls
but like you said, small sample. What I’ve seen is he usually get’s a foul or two early when he gets in. But if he’s aloud to stay in he settles down and doesn’t foul much after that. Of course he usually only play five or ten minutes in games he plays.
But I really wasn’t suggesting that he could replace Butler. Merely noting the exact same win shares produced according to that formula.
