Oklahoma City joins the Mavericks, Lakers and Spurs for Western Supremacy
In an effort to solidify their interior, the Thunder have traded for Kendrick Perkins and Nazr Mohammed. Are Perkins and Mohammed an upgrade from Nenad Krstic and Jeff Green? Obviously a downgrade in offensive capability but a huge leap in rebounding and defensive ability.
Plus, the Thunder got some offensive punch from the acquisition of Nate Robinson. I think their starting five would be Russell Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha, Kevin Durant, Kendrick Perkins and Serge Ibaka. With Nate Robinson, James Harden and Nick Collison rounding out the main rotation.
I think this was a win for the Thunder. They got a ton better on the defensive side of the ball with Kendrick Perkins and made up for the loss in offense with Nate Robinson. With the obvious caveat on whether or not Perkins can play during the playoffs.

Obviously the Thunder got a better deal
I don’t think they’re up there with the Big 3 yet, but they’ve solidified the #4 spot.
i dont now
krstic and green can be good role players. it will be a interesting end to the regular season
Not really
I agree Green can be of service, but honestly he’s not needed in their rotation. Perkins is a solid battle-tested player that can play in the NBA Finals, Kristic and Green are not. Kristic is just not someone you want to go into battle with in the playoffs. It’s worse than having Dampier as your starting center.
Big 4*
It won’t show in the regular season. Best of 7 series missing Perkins will be more obvious especially against Orlando and even Miami.

nah, OKC isnt as good quite yet
teams like the blazers, hornets or even suns can give them a run and most likely win.
Portland Trailblazers are the dark horse
The Trailblazers give up Dante Cunningham and Joel Przybilla for Gerald Wallace giving them a starting five of Roy, Wallace, Batum, Aldridge and ?. They’re now relying on Marcus Camby and Greg Oden to anchor the middle, when both of them look like they can’t stay on the court for any length of time. I still don’t want to play them in the playoffs.
Boston raped themselves
I’m disgusted by their stupidity. I think they may have just pissed away their chance at the title this year and maybe for the near future.

unless they plan on signing Murphy
yeah, pretty much their undoing

Sorry, I don't know much about Murphy but
how does that help them? His stats don’t seem that remarkable: http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1013/troy-murphy

makes them a little whiter, i think :-)
on a serious note, i think he’d be a good rotation player (if Boston is in fact hinging on Shaq and Jermaine). He didn’t quite get enough playing time this season with the Nets to vouch for meritable stats, but his Warriors and Pacers stints were fine (around 14pts, 10 rebs in 32 mins).

Doesn't sound too bad I guess
Still a bit of a surprising downgrade but then again I’m not in charge so…
