This would never happen, mind you, it is just fun to discuss.

What if the top 4 seeds in the playoffs could pick their opponents from the other 4? Think about it. Think about how awesome that would be. It would create rivalries. It would be one team pretty much saying "I think I can take you. Let's play" and then they play a series. So, for example:

Team 1, the first seed, can pick to play 5-8, then 2 picks from the remaining 3, then 3, then the 4th seed gets the last one left.

This way, first seed is truly a gift, because you choose your own opponent. So, looking back, there's no way in hell Dallas chooses GS back in 07'.

Anyways, I just wanted your opinions guys. I think it would provide for a lot of good. Now, first seed would truly be worth fighting for because you choose your own opponent. Also, by a team pretty much saying "We can beat you. bring it" It will provide for a lot of heat, a spark, and a lot of determination from underdogs, thus rivalries. Moreover, it would really make teams want to kill for that 1-4 seed, and then seeds 5-8 would just be fighting for a playoff berth, not necessarily a certain spot.

By the way, this is how the brackets would stay the same, with the 1,2,3,4 seeds staying where they are now, and the 5-8 seeds just going where needed.
