I believe everything happens for a reason, whether it be good or bad. It's all here to teach us something and help us get to that better place. So what about 2006, did that particular series help us out in any way? I say yes. Mind you this is with the benefit of hindsight, if this year never happened I would forever be wondering when it would. Eventually it would come but one never knows when. Right now, at this moment in time, I believe it is OUR TIME.

The Mavs have risen to the challenge, which is greater than ever before. Yet we are worthy of it, because we got to where we are. The loss in 2006 affected me, in more ways than can be said here. I remember staying up that night, June 20th, 2006. I just laid in the dark, with nothing but tears to comfort me. We had glory within our grasp and in a blink of an eye it was gone.

This year it is different. Our hero, Dirk Nowitzki, has matured and learned from the past. That is something we all hope to do as we grow older, he has. Our time is now. This has been an incredible run and it CANNOT end with the bad guys winning. Our time is now. I leave you with what I think, is the song to this Maverick run into history.
