Apparently Kobe Bryant thought he'd emulate a better shooter... :)

This made me smile.

You know how they say “Imitation is the highest form of flattery.”

"The idea is not to block every shot. The idea is to make your opponent believe that you might block every shot."

I'm no kobe lover

..but this just shows how good he really is and how much of a competitor he is

I may not be able to defend...but i'm the baddest shooter ever

Isn't the fadeaway

the most hardest shot to defend, aside from maybe the skyhook?

That's tough, but Dirk's fadeaway is ridiculously hard to defend...

A 7-footer fading away, with the arc he puts on the ball, while creating more space with his knee? That’s not even fair.

I would agree with this

But Dirk’s fadeaway is insane.

I think Sports Science best depicted it: If a man was as tall as Yao Ming and had the vertical leap of Dwight Howard, they still could not block Dirk’s fade-away. That’s ridiculous.

How hard

is the fadeway shot to learn? You’d figure every team would be trying to get their big men to learn it. Seems like you don’t need to be the most super-athletic guy with a huge vertical to get it off successfully.

Learning it isn't that hard, being consistent enough with it is the hard part.

It requires a very deft touch to do well. It was always considered to be too inconsistent of a shot for most players to put a lot of emphasis on it.

If we're really serious about getting Tom Hicks outta here, I know some folks from Liverpool who'll be glad to help.

To Kobe...

“I have seen Dirk Nowitzki..and you sir, are no Dirk Nowitzki”

Here’s a theoretical play from 2010: Snap. Tony takes 7 step drop. Tony looks left at Miles, who is doubled, and looks right to where Roy Williams should be…but instead sees Colombo on his back and a Defensive End foaming at the mouth jumping over Marc’s carcass. Tony proceeds to run like hell and look for Witten

Am I the most optimistic Cowboys fan in the World? Yes, due to an "unfortunate accident" to the previous holder of the title.
