It's been a while since I wanted to post this here but I couldn't cause school got in the way (I have to get my priorities straight). But this article was well written and brought tears to my eyes knowing how special Dirk is, not only as a player, but as a person as well. Genuine and humble might be the two best words I could use to describe him as a person (though I don't know him personally, I do stalk him from time to time). Two best words to describe him as a player? Let's just say two words ain't enough.

Well, enough of the chit chat. I'll post the article and you guys can go ahead and read it. It's not a long read but it's definitely a good read. I won't go into details about what the article says, let's just say we (Mavericks fans) might experience this soon enough. Without furder ado, I leave you guys with what I think was the best line/paragraph from the article.

Disclaimer: You might want to bring some towels to wipe your tears off.

"He looked terrible after the game against Lithuania. His eyes were almost black and it was obvious, that his battery was running on reserve in the last minutes. He was carried only by his will, as the saying goes, to make another miracle happen. It did not happen, but for me that takes nothing away from him. Quite the opposite is true: taking on a fight against overall better teams, where you can't win that much, but lose a lot of your reputation, is something to be proud of. Not a lot of people would do this, but Dirk did."
