As is our MMB tradition, I asked Kirk to write a little introduction about himself. I would like it to be known that he finally decided to join and actively participate in the site after our big switch to #United... because it looks THAT GOOD.
Without further ado:
My name is Kirk Henderson and I'll be joining the delightful staff of Mavs Moneyball this season. I'll be starting by assisting with game previews and recaps and possibly some opinion pieces as the season moves along. As to who I am, I'm a 28 year old non-profit database manager in Alexandria, VA, just outside our nation's Capitol. I live here with my wife, giant American Bulldog Grace, and our four kids, Dirkland, Jettina, Tyson, and Ason. Also, I may not actually have any children.
I grew up in Coppell, Texas and became a full bore Mavs enthusiast when Calvin Booth hit the turn around game winner against the Jazz in 2001, capping a 3-game comeback in the best of five series. I attended college at Pepperdine in California, where I developed a next-level loathing and respect for the Los Angeles Lakers and their fanbase. I spend a lot of my free time playing pick-up basketball, working out, watching absurd amounts of TV, and reading about my other non-basketball vice, politics. I'm really looking forward to writing here, interacting with the site's readership, and cheering on Dallas as they hopefully make the playoffs for the 13th straight year.
