Delonte West suspended by the Mavericks for "conduct detrimental to the team"

In breaking news, Chuck Cooperstein reports that Rick Carlisle announced a suspension for the second year Dallas guard.

Rick Carlisle reports that the Mavericks have suspended Delonte West.

West was suspended ten games by the NBA in 2010 after pleading guilty to a weapons related charge. He is clinically diagnosed with bipolar disorder but seemed to have found a good fit in Dallas, when they brought him back for a second year this off-season.

The suspension came after playing 17 minutes in tonight's preseason game. He scored two points (1-3 from the field) with a couple of assists and a rebound.
