Wide stances, y'all - Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE
The Mavericks split a pair on the road with an impressive win over the Lakers and a disappointing showing versus the Jazz. Now they open the season at home against a Charlotte Bobcats team who recently ended a 23-game losing streak.
WHO: The Dallas Mavericks host the Charlotte Bobcats
WHAT: The home opener against a newly victorious 'Cats team
WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX
WHEN: 7:30pm CT
HOW: FSSW | League Pass (still free)
THE STORY: These two teams already faced each other in the preseason, but that was before the Mavericks had signed Troy Murphy, Game Changer. I joke, but I have absolutely no idea what he'll bring to the table. Eddy Curry is gone now, and we still don't have Dirk Nowitzki. The Bobcats, well the Bobcats have never beaten the Mavericks. Ever. But they DO have Kemba Walker still, and he scored 30 in their win against the Pacers (sorry for taking Collison, y'all.) Stop by for a visit with CardboardGerald at Rufus On Fire.
MAVS!
**couple of updates: Chris Kaman WILL be playing, Rodrigue Beaubois will NOT be playing, and Mark Followill, play by play announcer, was in a cycling accident and will not be calling tonight's game. He is ok... but might be out a while. Our thoughts are with him as he recovers.
