First, let me say like for all of you this has been a tough season to watch thus far. Forget all the close losses, as they are bad but all the blowout ones and games where you can clearly see a talent discrepency has been hard to watch. While I know the Mavs are without Dirk, and he will certainly help tremendously if fully healthy. However, I feel that the next 9 games might just determine where this season ultimately ends up Dirk or no Dirk. The Mavericks are currently (11-13) and how the games below turnout the season could be hopeless or full of hope.

Just looking at that list and given how the current Mavs have played I almost feel that the Mavs will go 3-6 best case which would make them 14-19 quickly approaching the halfway mark but I could really see the Mavs going 1-8 honestly. The Mavs are going to have to do something as their problems are not going to be fixed by Dirk alone. Certainly he can help with rebounding, but the lack of defense and turnovers are not easy fixes. Thoughts?
