Today Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West offered an injury update on his broken right ring finger. The timetable suggests he could be back around March, 20th. He obviously will miss the nine games in twelve nights starting right after the break, but would be available at some point during another tough stretch starting March 21st: The Mavs will play the Lakers, Spurs, Rockets twice, Heat, Magic, Clippers, Trail Blazers and again the Clippers until April, 7th.
Remember that MMB got you covered on the schedule here.
In the absence of Rodrigue Beaubois, Dominique Jones has gotten plenty of opportunity lately, but you would think that he will need to leave a major impression on Rick Carlisle tonight against the Lakers to push himself in front of Roddy in the rotation. Although his court vision, passing and his ability to get to the rim showed once again during the four games without West and Roddy, he just averaged a PER of 7.03 along with negatives in WS48 and WP48, which means he had trouble not hurting the team while Jason Kidd was on the bench.
The biggest issue with Jones remains that his jumper is nowhere to be found.
With a cast around his right hand, Delonte West expects to return from his fractured ring finger 2-3 weeks after the All-Star break.
