(SB Nation Dallas, Jonathan Tjarks) While discussing politics is a strictly forbidden subject here at SB Nation, we had to pass on this interesting tidbit from ESPN Dallas: Vince Carter is set to host a $30,000 a plate campaign fundraiser for President Obama at his off-season home in Orlando during All-Star Weekend.
"Hey, I didn't make the prices," Carter joked. "Believe me."
Carter apparently hit it off with the President during the NBA lockout, and he was one of the players organizing the Obama Classic, an exhibition game/campaign fundraiser that was cancelled after the lockout was unexpectedly resolved last year.
The Mavericks guard said the guest list is around 70 people right now, which would be enough money for the Obama campaign to add the salary of a 35-year NBA old shooting guard to their staff.
