PrintSo Dirk was selected to his 11th consecutive All Star appearance along with Russell Westbrook (OKC), Marc Gasol (MEM), BFF Steve Nash (PHX), Kevin Love (MIN), LaMarcus Aldridge (POR), and Tony Parker (SAS).
As per Marc Spears:
While Dirk has said he's not deserving of being an All-Star, a source says Mavs coach Rick Carlisle lobbied on his behalf to West Coaches.
Eastern conference reserves were Chris Bosh (MIA), Joe Johnson (ATL), Roy Hibbert (IND), Paul Pierce (BOS), Deron Williams (NJ), Luol Deng (CHI), and Andre Iguodala (PHI).
Obvious snubs were Rajon Rondo (BOS), Paul Milsap (UTA), injured Danilo Gallinari (DEN) or any representative from Denver, and Danny Granger (IND).
So to sum it up, here's what we have for each conference (starters in bold):
Western Conference
- Chris Paul (LAC)
- Kobe Bryant (LAL)
- Kevin Durant (OKC)
- Blake Griffin (LAC)

porker made it in but not Duncan wohoo and only one celtic, paula he sounded so sad
gone are the days where there’s 4 boston smeltics in the all-star game hah
duncan didn't deserve to be in the all star last season and this season too
and there’s an argument to be made with Dirk. but what’s boggling me is the obvious snub of Rondo. I’m not a fan of the celts but Rondo should have been included.

ehe ya rondo second to Nash in assists, there's always snubs tnt just said the biggest
one is rudy gay out west i’ve watched some memphis games he was atrocious it’s a good list of reserves though maybe except for aldridge and westbrick out west never mind their records

for this year the suns are playing well enough (lately) to sneak into the playoffs
but the competition out west is really something, well who knows what Nash will do next year or Cuban for that matter
the coach out west will not be popobitch unless something drastic happens

I wasn't surprised that Dirk made the all-star but it's good to hear Coach Carlisle persuading the other coaches
I think Rondo should be in the all-stars, definitely.
I don’t think Jeremy Lin should even be in the talk of being an all-star. He’s only been playing 3 good games.
Hoping for another ring or two before Dirk or Kidd or Terry retires.
Congratz dirk for making it in the ASG 2012.
i thought he’s not gonna make it to the team with the way he’s been playing. So glad the coaches gave respect to the talent in Dirk. Go Mavs!
