Hard to know what to do with this one, guys. On a surface level it looks like a mostly humanitarian move with little benefit for the Mavs, but their refusal to release him here WILL, as the article states, make it possible for them to trade him in the offseason, theoretically. I'm really sorry this didn't work out---the Mavs need an extra scorer, defender and rebounder in a big way.
