What this free agency proves.

This free agency has proved one thing to me. Basketball is at a time where contracts and money mean more than loyalty and respect. The ever elusive search for a ring has clouded over what should be a search for a ring with your team.

Players no longer seem to have love and devotion to a city or team. In the past few off seasons we've seen players hop left and right to get championships or for money to the point where I feel basketball is becoming baseball with a salary cap.

This did not begin with LeBron, mind you. This has been happening for the past probably five or so years, and recently it has gotten out of hand. I just want to say that is this off season, and a few prior ones, have made me love Dirk so much more. My level of admiration and respect for him could not be higher. From what I hear he has no intentions of ever leaving his team. And I can guarantee his championship will forever be sweeter than any LeBron, Allen, Kidd, Jet, Howard or anyone will get.

By the way, I'm not bitter about the players that left us. They had reasons. All I'm saying is that if they had the desire to bleed blue something could have been worked out in the front office.

I will leave on the note that I am excited for the upcoming season. Very excited. Our team has a chance to be youthful for once. It is an exciting time for Dallas. We have an opportunity to field young players and allow them to develop and progress in front of our very eyes and for all we know have a playoff run very recently.

Now, as always,

GO MAVS!!!
