Dallas Mavericks Receive a B from NBA.com for their Offseason Moves

Things could have been a LOT better for the Dallas Mavericks this summer if they had landed a marquee free agent such as Deron Williams or Steve Nash. But according to NBA.com's Summer Report Card, the Mavericks could have done a LOT worse.

Last season they finished 20th overall in offense (that seems so low for Dallas, doesn't it?) and 8th overall in defense (WITHOUT Tyson Chandler, no less. Haters.) They had so much room for improvement this summer thanks to a mediocre finish to the season and an unceremonious first-round sweep out of the playoffs.

The Mavs got rid of some old baggage and scrounged up some new (cheap) talent, thereby strengthening their front court with Chris Kaman and Elton Brand(for which they received an A-) and keeping a somewhat strong back court by replacing Jasons Kidd and Terry with OJ Mayo and Darren Collison (this warranted a B).

Special note: NBA.com mispelled our first round draft pick's name. Jarded? Who the hell is JARDED? Someone please hire me as a copy editor for the love of all that is holy...
