Mark Cuban "Pissed" at Jason Kidd, Won't Retire His Number

Well this photo suddenly seems awkward... (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)

Being a Mavericks fan who doesn't live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area means I often miss out on a lot of Mavs-related things. For example, Mark Cuban went on the Ben & Skin show on ESPN Radio this morning... and absolutely blasted Jason Kidd for the way he left Dallas for New York. I only heard about this after the fact, when people were tweeting their surprise.

According to Jon Machota, a special contributor for the Dallas Morning News, Cuban was pretty insulted by the events that led to Kidd becoming a Knick.

Cuban said:

J-Kidd's a big boy, he can do whatever he wants, but you don't change your mind like that. I'm sure I'll get over it at some point, but as of right now, I wouldn't put J-Kidd's number in the rafters.

Those are pretty harsh words, considering Jason Kidd is a very key contributing factor to the Mavericks making their championship run. To be fair, Cuban DID specify that he might later change his mind, but he's pretty angry right now.

And how was this different than the other Jason's departure?

Cuban on Jason Terry:

Jet was 100 percent honest and straight forward about everything, no problem with what Jet did whatsoever.

We all know I love Jason Kidd. But to be quite frank, I'm pissed at him for leaving too. Then again, he's now MUCH closer to where I live so I guess I can't be TOO angry...
