Dahntay: almost as annoying to spell as Dwyane. Mandatory credit: Michael Hickey-US PRESSWIRE
It's Friday. There's nothing happening. Literally. I'm rocking out to Pandora at work, and scrounging around for links. Here's what I could drudge up:
- Mark Cuban is in a commercial. For Diet Moutain Dew. Sometimes it's kinda fun to have a well-known team owner, y'know? The Mavericks might not be as well-known or "popular" as the Lakers or the Celtics, but our owner is the shit. Oh, and he's also appearing on the television show Necessary Roughness on USA starring that chick I love from Rescue Me.
- Dirk Nowitzki counts carrying his country's flag in the Olympic Games as one of his proudest moments. He talked a bit with NBC in Dallas about his Olympic memories and his plans for the future. Can you IMAGINE little tiny Dirks running around?! They'd probably be taller than me by age 5 but whatever.
- This is a little bit of a stretch, but this article has the BEST line about Yi Jianlian I think I've ever read. He unfortunately suffered a knee injury in China's loss to Australia yesterday. Go to the fourth paragraph and read how they describe Yi. Go ahead. I'll wait.
- Eark K. Sneed writes on Mavs.com about the possibility that Dahntay Jones, acquired in the trade with the Pacers (where we also got Darren Collison), could step in the shoes of DeShawn Stevenson as a defensive specialist with an outside shot. That'd be nice, but will he do the "three monacle"?
