I have rated the 2008 draft below. Its been 4 years. And that's how hindsight looks.
Chicago's excellent draft selections have often gone unnoticed (Noah in 2007, Rose in 2008, Taj Gibson in 2009). Chicago smartly chose Derrick Rose over Michael Beasley (not an obvious choice back then). If it wasn't for injuries, they would have likely met the other draft demons-- Oklahoma City Thunder. And of course, Russell Westbrook...
During this time, Dallas was busy off of firing Avery Johnson and replacing him with Rick Carlisle. Its interesting how Carlisle has only coached rookies twice in his Dallas career - Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique Jones. Meanwhile, Pat Riley was juggling whether to choose Beasley or O.J. Mayo. To Dallas and Miami: Its funny how little the draft matters when you have a franchise player already.
Help me out: Where did I make my mistakes? Would love to hear them. Don't be afraid to nitpick.. I am sure there is plenty of disputable classifications.
