A lot of things to parse here. It stinks for an fan of AI that he won't be returning to basketball at the moment. It's disappointing for the Legends, who were looking to add another quality player to the roster. It's also interesting to see Iverson acknowledge that he contributed to his awkward departure from basketball.
It's also frustrating; Iverson has been given a potential path to the NBA via the developmental league. It's understandable that a former MVP wouldn't want to take this route, but he doesn't have any other options at the moment. He's right to say that his return isn't up to him. But when he cuts off options he's certainly playing a role in determining his basketball fate.
