THE STORY: The Clippers, believe it or not, are the best team in the NBA. Record-wise, at least. They haven't lost at home since November 26th, a stretch that has spanned 13 games at the Staples Center. Meanwhile, the Mavericks have lost 12 of their last 14, including five in overtime. Dirk Nowitzki is finally getting back on track, which is excellent news, but so far the Mavericks have not figured out how to get over the hump to actually start winning games.
