If this has already been discussed then my bad, but I haven't been on this site since kingdom come.
It has recently come to my attention that Dirk has a really realistic shot of retiring as one of the top 6 or 7 scorers in league history. Match that up with an incredible playoff streak, a league and finals MVP, and that beautiful ring(That he got via what was called a "Legendary" performance by many analysts in the entire 2011 playoffs) and Dirk could very easily be in the discussion for one of the top 10 players in league history.
Anyways, onto the fun part of the post. What position do you think Dirk will finish in? (The players in all caps are still active)
As crazy as this may seem, I say he has a good shot at finishing number 6 above Shaq. If he scores just 15 points a game for the next 3 seasons playing 75 games per season, he will finish as the 6th leading scorer in NBA history. Wow. If he keeps scoring in the 20+ range he could do it by the 2015-2016 season.
BTW, he is on pace to finish the season at number 10 with 26,723 points.
Anyways, enjoy. It's good to be back.
