Here's the link: Thunder sign PG Derek Fisher.
A number of the commenters bring up his propensity to "miss his family" when on lesser teams while being able to overcome this when a ring might be in play. Also a number of comments relate to his status as the NBAPA President and what sort of message it sends to younger players if the president can ditch three different teams he doesn't want to play for (while under contract) and sign with another team for their playoff run.
Personally, I thought Cuban was just being a good guy letting him bail on Dallas. It's not like they could have forced him to play and honor his contract, but it was fairly obvious that his wanting to leave coincided with the losing streak. Nevertheless, I felt like Cuban was doing the right thing and handling it the right way in private. Now what little respect I had for Fisher is gone. Wanting out of a situation where you were traded (Jazz and Rockets) is one thing even though you signed a contract with the understanding that that was a possibility. (And let's all hope that the NBAPA President understands NBA contracts.) Skipping out on an open market signing to later join another team that same season is something else.
