I look at the new(ish) roster and see a couple of significant holes. Obviously, Center is a huge one (and I prefer moving Marion for Asik plus signing AK47 rather than rolling the dice on Bynum), but a wing defender who can shoot is anther glaring deficiency. Anyone really comfortable with Devin Harris and Vince as your only SG options? I'm not saying this needs to be a lockdown defender, but a 6'6"-6'8" guy in the 210-230 range who can knock down the 3 at better than 35% as either the starting SG or back up SG or SF (whichever Vince isn't) appears to be needed. Someone big enough to guard other SG or SF, and maybe even switch on to a Pf from time to time. It looks to me that Xavier Henry could be that guy at an affordable price. 6'6" 220. Shot 39% and 41% from 3 the last 2 seasons. Didn't log a lot of minutes behind Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers so his overal stats weren't good enough for the more lucrative contract offers. I suspect he is available for $1.5m/yr over 2-4yrs much like Francisco Garcia was for Houston. Those size contracts are easy to move if a player doesn't pan out. He's only 22 years old. Seems like an ideal fit for the Mavs who need to get younger, cheaper, and more athletic. Low risk high reward player that fits a need. Any interest?
