1. with Thunder:
Dalembert, Carter, 2nd round pick (and/or also Ledo)
for Perkins and Mavs own protected 1st round pick from the Odom trade
2. with Rockets
Perkins and two 1st round picks (2014 unprotected and 2016 top 10 protected)
why Thunder does it: cap release, upgrade at center, back up for injured Westbrook, bench scoring, experience
why Housten does it: future assets, so far nobody seemed to be willing to pay the two desired 1st rounders for Asik, Perkins should do as 10 min backup (and Howard needn t play his old nemesis Perkins)
why Mavs do it: de facto this trade is Carter, Dalembert plus 1st round pick for Asik.
Harris and Ellington replace most of Carter and Asik should bring a huge defensive upgrade.
For 2014/15 four starters (except SF) and 6th/7th man (Wright) are set. Only major needs (SF and 6th man SG or PG or also defensive starting SG and move Ellis to 6th man) should be very feasible to address with the significant cap space from Marion and Dirks new discount deal. (and maybe Marion comes also back as backup SF at a discount)
Chances are that Mavs can make the playoffs 2014-16 and don t give up too much in picks.
I guess that sounds too good?
