PG of the Future?

I'm not sure if I'm alone in feeling that the Mavericks' PG position could use a boost. However, I feel like we should wait until next offseason before trying to fix any of that, as there are two potential free agent point guards that I would be interested in. The first is Rajon Rondo. He moves the ball and gets a lot of assists, and used to be pretty good at feeding the ball to his 2, 3, and his 4. What's there to believe he couldn't be just as good with Monta, Chandler, and Dirk instead of Ray Allen, The Truth, and KG? Obviously money would be an issue but this is also a year away and Mark Cuban is a very good owner.

The second idea I had was another attempt at restricted free agent-robbery, Ricky Rubio. He's rather similar to Rondo, not much of a shooter, decent finisher around the basket, pass first-pass second mindset. Obviously he is a large part of Minnesota but you never know, Cuban is good, like I said.

The potential for a stellar offense is present with Rondo/Rubio-Ellis-Parsons-Nowitzki, while the defensive integrity is still maintained with Rondo's annoying defense and Rubio's quick hands. What do you think?
