With the start of NBA Summer League in Orlando on Saturday, July 2nd, we will only have gone without basketball for 12 days. The NBA's first showcase for both drafted and undrafted players starts this weekend, right as free agency heats up.
The Mavericks will be participating for the first time, while still fielding a team for Las Vegas. The roster consists of the following players:
Justin Anderson will not be on the Orlando team and neither will recent draftee A.J. Hammons, although expect both to suit up for Las Vegas. Satnam Singh, a 2015 second round draftee, will be there, as will local product Cory Jefferson from Baylor. Brandon Ashley was a training camp participant for the Mavericks last fall before being cut to finalize the team's 15-man roster.
The Mavericks are guaranteed five games in Orlando starting bright and early on Saturday morning.
- Saturday July 2nd at 8:00 am CST vs Oklahoma City Thunder
- Monday, July 4th at 12:00 pm CST vs Orlando White Team
- Wednesday, July 6th at 2:00 pm CST vs Charlotte Hornets
- Thursday, July 7th at 12:00 pm CST vs Orlando Blue Team
- Friday, July 8th, time and opponent TBD
The Orlando Pro Summer League games for the Mavericks will be available on NBA TV. The first two games will also be on TXA 21.
Games are also available through NBA Summer League Pass, which in the past has cost $15 for access to both Orlando and Las Vegas Summer Leagues (though Vegas will also be broadcast, in part, on the ESPN family of networks). Mavs Moneyball will be providing coverage of both events, including in person coverage in Vegas.
