Kobe Bryant Talked Trash to Dirk Nowitzki During the Lakers Game Last Night

During the Lakers thrashing of the Portland Trailblazers last night, Kobe Bryant shot the one-legged fadeaway jumper, and drilled it. This is of course, Dirk Nowitkzi's go-to move. After Kobe drilled it and play stopped for a moment, he decided to go to the TNT announcers and have a little fun. Check out the video below:

Pretty funny, Kobe. What a jokester this guy is. First he said he had no idea who Jeremy Lin is, now this. For my money, Kobe and Louis C.K. are the funniest people in the universe right now.

And I know Kobe is just talking some friendly trash, nothing serious. He just slightly trolling. No worries. But, I can't resist.

So, yours is sexier Kobe? Was it sexier when Dallas swept your team in the 2011 playoffs? Was it sexier even though Dirk shot 12-of-20 (60 pecent) from the midrange area in the series against your Lakers in that 4-0 sweep? Is it still sexier despite the fact that you're shooting about 45 percent from midrange this year, which is astronomically high compared to the percentages in the 30s you shot from midrange the previous five years? And Dirk during that same span? Never shot under 46 percent from that range in those five years.

So yeah, Kobe. Your one-legged shot is way sexier than Dirk's.

(Obvious troll is obvious. Direct all "FIVE RINGZ" hate to me in the comments below. I know it's coming, Lakers fans.)

(Hat tip to Ball Don't Lie for the video)

Jason Kidd's Milestone

Somehow in my recap last night, I forgot to acknowledge Jason Kidd's move to second all-time in career steals. Well, here it is.

A tip of the cap to Mr. Kidd. On a side note, this wasn't even his most impressive steal that game. There was one earlier where the Celtics threw the ball away, it was tipped around and Kidd and Jermaine O'Neal both wrestled for the ball. As O'Neal put his clamps on the ball, Kidd pried it away from him. I swear, the dude has bear hands. Or robot hands. Or some sort of set of hands that are really strong. Like an Ox. Or a bear. Or a robot.

A 2011-12 Dallas Maverick #GameChanger: Delonte West

Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West looks for an open teammate in the first quarter of an NBA basketball game against the Denver Nuggets.

Rick Carlisle, after succeeding in trashing the Miami Heat to obtain the Dallas Mavericks' first championship, saw a significant and important part of the roster bolt or be traded. The small, somewhat inefficient point guard J.J Barea left to the Timberwolves. However, Barea helped the Mavericks by being the lightning in a bottle boy; the man to start a spark when the enemy made gains on the lead or even took the lead. Barea sliced into the paint, pump faked a player to get a clean shot in, or took a three that took off the roof at the AAC or silenced a jeering crowd. Instead, a new combo guard came to Dallas to improve what critics panned his 'worst season' since his rookie year. That man is no other than Delonte West, and halfway through the season, he has been the #GameChanger of the Dallas Mavericks, fractured finger and all.

Toasting the Champs with Lemon Drop Shots...

Last night, in a quaint pub on McKinney Ave in Dallas, a few people gathered to make new friends and talk about basketball. Some of us had met before, others were familiar only from the game threads. All of us love the Mavericks, and it was around this shared obsession that we built our epic evening.

After enduring zkmavz' ADD as he watched the Baylor game, we were able to get to know one another as real people instead of just silly avatars and angry Barea rants. One by one, members trickled in. We were even graced by a visit from the elusive Bryan Gutierrez, formerly our Edtior, current writer for Mavs.com.

Roderick P quietly joined us, and was dubbed @faketuffjuice because he looks EXACTLY like Caron Butler. Seriously. Look at his picture. It's freaky. New editors andytobo and Boweman55 were convinced (by me) that the generic SBNation star avatar simply wont cut it. And I was stoked to put actual faces to the people I bother on email 24-7.

New blog member and very important tech guru for Dallas sports teams ChrisFoley took probably the girliest shot he's ever taken with a group of strangers. Maximilian impressed us all with his very new, very fancy phone. And he couldn't stop fussing with it. Photographic evidence below. jonas m. photobombed said photographic evidence. And Bruce182 literally walked out on his job at Sam's Club so he could be there with us. And double-fist Miller Lites.
