**UPDATE** I will, in fact, be attending the game on Sunday against the Heat. I'm still trying to plan an event, specifically the one on the 23rd!

Here are some dates to look at- tell me if you guys would show up!!!

12/23- The Friday night before Christmas Eve seems like a harmless night to have a gathering out at a local restaurant/bar to get ourselves acquainted and pumped for the season.

12/25- Game Watch Party!!! Or something of the like... I know it's Xmas day, but I figured it's worth a shot. I won't be in attendance, but that doesn't mean a party can't happen. It just won't be as fun.

We here at SBNation do our jobs so that you, the fan, have a forum in which you can express your thoughts, emotions, and robotic beeps. That's why this Monday, October 17th, we're putting together a little 'protest' so that the average (or above-average, in our cases) NBA Fan can have a platform on which to stand and shout. 

We want to flood the interwebs with our voice so the world knows that, even though we're in a lockout, we still give a crap about basketball. June 12 -- that delicious and triumphant Sunday night -- was not the first time I shed tears (yes, multiple) over the Dallas Mavericks. That should tell you plenty of things:

• I love the Mavericks and basketball with every fiber of my being.

• I take the game very seriously. And this team.
  

• I'm an emotional drama king. And a big baby.
  

So on that note, hello! My name is Josh Bowe and I'm thrilled to be joining the wonderful team and community here at Mavs Moneyball. I'm a combination of excited, nervous and nauseous. A lot of people care about this site. A ton of people took part in the voting process. I will do my best to not let you down. But wait! There's more!

I don't know how many of you were watching the poll numbers this weekend, but this was a very close race, and I'm so pleased that we got such a positive response not only from our readers but from new folks coming in to support their friends as well.

I told you all at the beginning of this whole ordeal that, depending on the outcome, I might ask more than one person to join our ranks. Boweman55 ran away with the competition, winning by a margin of 37 votes, but Dick Sully and andytobo were neck in neck for second place. Based on the voting and the fact that three out of the five potential bloggers had significant votes, I'd like to give all three of the guys a chance to contribute as Authors for Mavs Moneyball.

We have the off-season to get to know each and every one of these dudes more intimately, so let's consider this a trial-run. As the winner, Boweman55 is guaranteed a spot when/if the season starts in the fall. Dick Sully and Andy Tobo will have to earn the right to stick around :) That means I want everyone writing and contributing, including diabym and I am Ironman, who should be commended for their effort this time around.

As a matter of fact, you should all know that you don't have to be an author for this site to get your thoughts on the front page. If you put a piece together and I think it's worthy, or other readers seem to be enjoying it, I'll shove it right to the top of the page! So please feel free to use this blog for what it is- a community of Dallas Mavericks Basketball lovers with forum in which to express ourselves.
