Pistons keep Herrmann

Sports Network | August 11, 2008

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons re-signed forward Walter Herrmann on Monday.

The 29-year-old came to the Pistons in December of 2007 with Primoz Brezec in a trade that sent Nazr Mohammed to the Charlotte Bobcats.

"We are pleased to re-sign Walter Herrmann," said president of basketball operations Joe Dumars. "Walter is a player with tremendous work ethic and showed last year that he is a player that can contribute to this team."

Last season in 45 games with the Pistons and Bobcats, Herrmann averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Herrmann broke into the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2006 with Charlotte.
