PrintSan Antonio has fallen nine games back of Dallas. They sit just a half game ahead of Houston for third in the Southwest and fifth in the Western Conference. They have just a 10-10 record in the year 2007. We knew a trade had to be coming, and it finally has.
The Spurs have acquied Charlotte center/forward Melvin Ely for Eric Williams and a 2009 second-round draft pick.
Ely, who is in his fifth NBA season, is averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.

We are giving up a guy who isn't going to do shit for a guy who potentially might do something. I like it.
