Stat of the Day

Inspired byDavid Moore's article today.

If the Mavericks put even more of a defensive emphasis on Davis, do they run the risk that Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis or Al Harrington gets untracked? Are the Warriors a more dangerous team when the offensive wealth is spread among four to five players or when it's concentrated in Davis' hands?

Golden State's Records During the Regular Season:

  • Without Baron Davis: 6-13 (.316)
  • With Baron Davis: 36-27 (.571)
  • When Davis Scored Under 20: 16-15 (.516)
  • When Davis Scored Over 20: 20-12 (.625)

Those number are misleading
The warriors playing without BD in the game is totally different than having the defense focus on taking BD out of the game.

Yes, obviously.
but it still shows his importance, and the importance of his scoring, in relation to the teams success.

That would be why
Wes included the second set of numbers...

Also,
Golden State was 7-0 when Davis scored over 30

Baron Davis...
No matter what Baron does, as long as he's suited for the game our team goes hard. However, there were times during the season when we didn't have BD, our offense looked lost. He's our floor general/leader. Even if Dallas focused on stopping him, other's would eventually step up. The best way to probably guard the DUBS is to let them shoot the 3 ball. All our guys love to shoot the 3 and most of the time its our downfall. We can easily shoot ourself out of the game but at the same time blow a team out if we're making them.
