It Was Donaghy

ESPN says the NBA official in the FBI investigation was Tim Donaghy. And since I know every Mavs fan is wondering, Donaghy was not an official in any of the 2006 NBA Finals games vs. the Heat.

I'm relieved and dissapointed at the same time.
Part of me wanted to be able to blame their collapse on something else.  I guess I'll just have to accept the fact that they choked it away (with some help from unintentional bad officiating).

Huh?
Just because this crooked official didn't corrupt that series doesn't unequivocally mean that the series was untainted.

Personally I never thought the NBA was rigging games for the mob or for gambling purposes. The league uses officials to influence the game in such a way that it favors the team the league wants to win. I always thought it was to get the most marketable team/players to win the games, to maximize the profits and the exposure for the league.

IMO, there's no possible way I can imagine those Dwyade foul calls being simply "unintentional bad officiating". No one is that bad.

F*** you, David Stern.

just the tip of this iceberg
usually if you find one cockroach, you're gonna find alot more soon. Just because this particular ref didn't have a hand in that sham of 06 doesn't mean that one (or more) of the others didn't. To say that the refs didn't hand Miami that series is to say that one didn't WATCH that series. It's not just the Mavs that have been shafted by these guys. And I hope this guy squeals on his buddies so we can get a true picture of how tainted "David Stern Basketball" is. Cuban must be either rolling in delight or fuming with rage right now...

NBA...
Is going to have to wipe the whole refree crew they have implemented.  there is no way I trust any of his buddies now.  I dont care how good they are, and how bad the new ones are.... I want honest people at least calling these games

Not just the refs
The NBA needs a complete overhaul, starting with the commissioner Stern who allowed a ref under investigation by the FBI to officiate a playoff game (game 3 between between Spurs and Suns).

Enouhg is enough.

Stern must go.
