So this is what it feels to be a mediocre team...
Another glimmer of hope, another extreme disapointment.  I don't see how these guys are going to have any confidence going into the playoffs should we be able to stay in the race and get one of the last seeds.

Sigh...
I'm almost hoping we don't make the playoffs....it's too frustrating!!!

wow
the reigning MVP of the freaking league can't get a foul call when he's driving toward the bucket and KG pushes him with BOTH hands, but Paul Pierce can get to the FT line a million times by repeatedly trapping the other guys arm underneath his own and getting the call?  This game is absolutely unbelieveable..if Dirk were Dwayne Wade, they woulda blown the wistle before he even got into the paint on that last drive.

I hate to be this way
but after watching BOTH no calls on dirk (nevermind the CONSISTENT NO CALLS on Stack and Josh every DAMN game) I am with you...

It probably also didnt help that cuban wasnt there to get in their faces.  I had not been that pissed since D Whistle average 22 FT's a game against us...

And didnt the ticky tac fouls called on us against Pierce remind us of someone else mentioned in this here comment?  Un-FREAK-in believable.

We couldnt BUY a damn foul even if Donahugh had been reffing this game, and yet when this team breathes on people we get our asses beat in the FT attempts columns...

I also hate to be that guy
who blames the refs when his team loses.  The Mavs lost this game for a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is a massive lack of intestinal fortitude and balls to put the game away when you have the chance.  However, getting calls is part of home court advantage.  It's not like KG's hand brushed Dirk's arm while he was shooting...the contact intitiated by KG was directly responsible for the ball not going through the hoop.  If they're not going to call that foul, then they need to decide to completely abandon all ref involvement in the final 30 seconds of any game whatsoever.  I understand not wanting the refs to get all Crazy Joey Crawford on us and decide the outcome of games with "by the letter of the law" officiating, but they need to at least attempt to maintain "the spirit of the law" officiating, which means (to me) that they need to offer compensation (FTs) to a player who was plowed into while driving to the bucket for a pivotal bucket.  But I may just be bitter because the Mavs are apparently conspiring to ruin my life.

Especially when
Bullshit like this happens against us with the Big name 2/3's in the league game after game, after game, after game...

Most clever player on the floor last night? Paul Pierce. Twice, he found a way to lock a Maverick arm against his torso and turn it into a foul against Dallas. The ploy resulted in four free throws and a technical FT against Damp. Pierce was the instigator, the pinner. ... and scorer and the winner.

I swear he got every call... which is historically no different than any other night when we go up against Kobe, LBJ, Fagu, and of course... D-Whistle.

I know I sound like a bitch fan, but give me a break when the MVP drives to the lane with contact, not once... TWICE.

Rest assured Cuban shares the same feelings as us with this, and will let the league know damn well how he feels about it...

this is why i always say
i love the mavs... but i hate the nba

but you are right... this team, this league is ruining my life

I give up
This team , as presently constituted, is worse mentally and overall than the pre-trade team. It's not all J-Kidd's fault . It's also Avery's. He tries to make players what he envisions and not develop what they are. He just does not know how to play people to their strengths. And now that Avery and Cuban are arguing, it just signals the end to me. We have to do something major this offseason, because with the way this team plays (more like doesn't), we aren't getting past the first round. I hate to be this pessimistic about our chances, but I just don't see the Mavs doing anything come playoff time. Boston is fantastic, but we have to execute better down the stretch.

Sure am
glad we got Kidd to help us close out with these close, important games against tough teams.  To be fair, it's not Kidd's fault.  We just don't have enough (any?) athletic players to take advantage of his skills.  Even Howard is scared to go to the hole.
