Gameday Links!

Yep, Gameday.

The Mavs have preseason game number one tonight in Oklahoma City. I'll be having a game discussion thread on the site for those of us listening on 103.3 FM or fortunate enough to be watching on HDNet.

According, to Sefko, Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki, and Jerry Stackhouse won't be suiting up for the game tonight. Sefko, also has a short interview with non-roster invite Pat Carroll.

Eddie Sefko continues his two-a-day preseason with a story about the undecided lineup.

"Last year, what we tried to do was, at a certain point in preseason, really start to get the team ready," Johnson said Monday. "We're going to try to follow that same formula. Don't ask me whether it's the second game or the seventh game. It's somewhere in-between. And somewhere during that processing of information, we'll have more information and we can evaluate how we want to rotate."

The list of players whose role is to be determined is long.

Four starting spots are spoken for: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Josh Howard and DeSagana Diop.

After that, Devin Harris, Anthony Johnson, Maurice Ager, Jerry Stackhouse, Devean George, Greg Buckner, Austin Croshere, Erick Dampier and D.J. Mbenga are angling for a portion of the playing pie.
Over at the Star-Telegram, Greg Buckner and Jose Barea have kind words for the guy who writes their checks.
"He's a guy that cares about basketball in general and about the Mavericks. He wants to win, and he shows that as a fan." - Greg Buckner

"Mark Cuban is the best guy to own a team. He's fun. He's active. He loves his players. That's what you need. You are going to need people who love the players." Jose Barea
We might be seeing/hearing a lot about Barea tonight; Art Garcia reports that Avery Johnson plans on playing the four free-agents "significant minutes" during the preseason.
