6-6 Minnesota in town tonight for the second game of the Mavs four game homestand. And there is a lot of talk about Kevin Garnett. Dwain Price, much like Bill Simmons wrote last week, is hoping to see him traded to a contender.

In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Garnett needs a life jacket. Could the T'wolves do the unthinkable and trade their franchise player to a contender before the February trade deadline? Not unless Garnett demands a trade, and that's something his warrior mentality will not allow.

In another Price article, the upcoming home stand has him thinking 13 in a row.
With three home games this week against the Timberwolves, Toronto and Sacramento before road games at Washington and New Jersey, the Mavs could be closing in on the 13-game winning streak they had last season, and the club's all-time record of 14 in a row that opened the 2002-03 season.

"It's not anything we've talked about collectively as a team at all," guard Jerry Stackhouse said. "I think it's a little seed in the back of your head to think about, 'Yeah, we strung together 13 [in a row] last year, let's see if we can do a little better this year.'"

Short game preview by Sefko

And finally, Sefko has an article about the important role Diop and Dampier have played in the current winning streak.
"It seems like every time we play well, we win," Diop said.

And these days, Diop and Erick Dampier are playing well every game, which is a big reason the Mavericks are on a nine-game winning streak.
I wouldn't say they've played well in every game (Dampier was particularly pitiful against Washington), but as a tandem the production has been good.
