Can't ignore the fact that only three victims in Mavs' 9-0 surge have winning records. But don't ignore the fact that Howard missed all but two of those games.
NBA.com - Mavs 1st
Mavs longest winning streak in franchise history is 14 games. Contests this week vs. Kings, Wizards and Nets could equal that mark.
DIME Magazine - Mavs 1st
They own the league's longest win streak at 10 in a row; Dallas hasn't lost a game since that inexplicable 0-4 start. During the streak, Dirk Nowitzki has averaged 27 points and 10 boards. Josh Howard is back, too.
Yahoo! Sports - 3rd
Avery Johnson found the right combination when he inserted Erick Dampier and Devin Harris into the starting lineup.
SI.com - 2nd
Josh Howard is back in the lineup, and they registered victories over the Spurs and Hornets to run their win streak to an NBA season-high nine games. Yeah, we'd say that 0-4 start is officially a distant memory.

1st - Dirk Nowitzki
Don't let his averages of 24.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in 36 minutes fool you; Nowitzki's numbers were tainted during a six-point, six-rebound performance on Wednesday night against Toronto, one in which he had to leave in the first quarter with blurred vision. He's played brilliantly on both ends during Dallas' 11-game winning streak. He's the go-to guy on offense, his board work has allowed the Mavericks to outrebound its opponents by eight per game in the run, and his active defense (you heard me) has turned Dallas' season upside-down. Teams are scoring 91.7 points against the Mavs during the winning streak, down from 102.5 in the season's opening four games.
