The Monday Roundup

David Lord has a good writeup on the practicality and feasibility of  2010 free agency. (Part I)

No quotes, just read it.

Sefko has an article on the Mavs without Terry, pointing out that just about every team in the West has missed key pieces at some point this season.

"It's going to be a dogfight, we know that," Dirk Nowitzki said. "With [Amare] Stoudemire out in Phoenix, you know they're going to scratch and claw and do whatever it takes. Utah's going to get [Carlos] Boozer back next week. They'll start winning more on the road. So it's going to be a beast. But you got to love it. That's fun.

"You don't want to only look down. You want to look up too. San Antonio has Manu Ginobili hurt. We feel like the homecourt advantage is possible."

Jan Hubbard writes about Dirk, predicting he'll finish his career with Dallas.

Cuban no doubt would love to have Dirk play 20 years for the Mavericks, but he obviously can't make that commitment. He did say by e-mail, however, that his plan is to attract free agents with Dirk as the centerpiece."

"We think that Dirk will be a draw for stars to want to come to Dallas for years to come," Cuban said. "Players are playing at a high level for longer for a variety of reasons, so the window may not be as short as some think - particularly for a star like Dirk who takes his alley oops below the rim."

Gil LeBreton had an article yesterday on the Mavs bench.
