The Mavericks have a stifling defense but their offense has been struggling. The Pistons have a strong offense, but their defense has been lackluster. The Mavs will need to increase their scoring output to be able to capitalize on their defensive stops if they hope to improve their less-than-impressive home record.

The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the league's best defensive teams, but their offense continues to struggle. They may not be able to afford such a discrepancy against a Detroit Pistons team that is playing well offensively.
The last time the Mavericks (8-4) were on their home floor, they were outrebounded, 54-39, eventually suffering an 88-83 loss to the Chicago Bulls last Friday night.
Tonight the Mavericks return home for their first game since Friday’s disastrous loss at the American Airlines Center to Chicago.
