After the Fact: Dallas Doesn't Believe in Magic

The Dallas Mavericks continue on their road warrior way with a victory over the Orlando Magic 105-99.  Dallas is now 15-0 when they break the century mark for points.  The Mavericks are now done with their lone visit to the Sunshine state.  The only opportunity they'll have to make a return visit there is if they meet either the Heat or the Magic in the NBA Finals.  With that in mind, it's safe to say the Mavericks would love to see either team again.

Dallas beat the Magic at their own game: 3-point shooting and dunks.  The Mavericks came out raining 3's, going 5-9 from beyond the arc in the opening quarter.  They finished the game shooting 12-26 and 46.2% from three point range.

At the rate Dirk was going early, it looked like it'd be a strong scoring half for the wunderkind.  Eventually, Dirk Nowitzki passed Larry Bird for sole possession of 25th place on the all-time scoring list, he did so at the 11:18 mark of the 4th quarter.  It was pretty much a fitting scenario for Dirk to pass "Larry Legend" as Dirk made a transition three.

The new pieces for the Orlando Magic continue to struggle getting acclimated to their new team, it's a good thing they're in the Eastern Conference.  With the victory, the Mavericks now move to 5-0 on the second night of a back-to-back.

While we wait for Lisa's full recap from O-Town, feel free to comment on the game here.
