WHO: The Dallas Mavericks host the Denver Nuggets

WHAT: The first of a 3-game homestand

WHEN: 7:30pm CT

THE STORY: That road trip didn't exactly go as we'd planned... so now we have the next three games at home to try and get back on the right foot. This is the first time the Mavericks will face the Nuggets without Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, but Dallas will be without Tyson Chandler (back) and Jason Kidd (rest). There are some links today as usual, and if you're feeling brave, go check out the Denver Stiffs.

Nuggets-Mavericks Preview - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
The Dallas Mavericks will have home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, but their confidence isn't particularly high as the postseason approaches. With the team struggling against the conference's elite, the Mavericks will try for a series split at home against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

Shootaround Report: Nuggets (47-30) at Mavericks (53-24) - Mavs Fast Break
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle says that he was watching very closely Tuesday night when the Denver Nuggets suffered a 101-94 home loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The coach was watching so closely that he believes he may have figured out just how to beat the Nuggets, who had won six straight before dropping the game, when they enter the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.

Mavs hope to move past playoff failures - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
For the Dallas Mavericks, the trouble began nearly five years ago. Up 2-0 against the Miami Heat in the 2006 NBA Finals, they lost the next four games and the championship. The following year, they entered the playoffs with a league-high 67 victories, but lost in the first round to the Golden State Warriors and their former coach, Don Nelson. The past three postseasons haven’t brought much more success: two more first-round exits and a second-round series that netted just one victory.

Jason Kidd to get some much need rest but don't count Dirk out
Jason Kidd, along with Jason Terry the only Mavericks to play in all 77 games, is going to get some rest in the final five games. When, is the only question.
