THE STORY: The Mavericks opened their season with an unlikely victory against the Robo-Lakers. And then they've struggled without their star since. The Lakers were hyped beyond all hype when the season started, and have since proven to be susceptible to human error just like any other team. They have yet to win on the road this season, and they've dropped both of their second games on back-to-backs.
