I can still close my eyes and feel the excitement I felt as the minutes wound down in Game Six of the 2011 NBA Finals in Miami. Sure, it's only been a year, but nothing has come even close to topping that moment when our Dallas Mavericks became the Champions. If you feel like reliving my night, you can read it here. It was pretty effing epic.

Since then, I've moved back to New York, changed jobs, and even had my heart broken a few times. But one thing that has remained constant is my passion and devotion to this team, despite how things ended this year. We can crunch numbers and mock up drafts and create a thousand different scenarios in our heads of how this coming season will come together. I can tell you this with certainty- we will never recreate the series of nearly-mystical events that transpired to bring us that team that won it all.

And that's probably ok.

Our story is so sweet, and so satisfying, that I wouldn't trade it for all the high-priced superstars in the world.

So celebrate with me, dear Mavs fans, because we don't have much time left. A new hero will be crowned soon, and a new team will become the defending champions. But for now, we're still on top.

We done shook up the world!
