According to Marc Stein on ESPN Dallas, Delonte West will be returning next season with the Dallas Mavericks. The contract will not formally be signed until Wednesday, but both signs have agreed to terms. This news comes on the heels of rumors about the Lakers being interested in signing West.

Delonte injured a finger and missed 22 games last season, but was still a vital piece to the Mavericks as both a backup guard and an emotional leader. With the departure of Jason Kidd and Jason Terry, there will certainly be a spot for him in the new-look Dallas backcourt. He averaged 10 points a game last season on 46% shooting from the field and 36% from the three point line.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, as typical with recent Dallas Maverick transactions. However, it does appear that the Mavericks roster is just about complete, as West will be the 14th player under contract and there are rumors that Bernard James will sign sometime this week to be the 15th.
