What did the Warriors do over the summer?
Oh, nothing much, just added Andre Iguodala to their already playoff caliber team.
In all seriousness, yes, Iguodala was in a lot of ways the power move of the summer (sorry, Rockets). The Warriors also added Marreese Speights, Toney Douglas and Jermaine O'Neal, while letting Jarrett Jack, Carl Landry and a few other role players walk. They also managed to dump a TON of salary in a trade with the Jazz, going from luxury tax to under the cap in one move. All in all, the Dubs were pretty smart with their summer moves and got better without losing much in any position.
What have the Warriors done lately?
Despite being one of the more potent teams in the West on any given night, Golden State is on a little bit of a losing streak at the moment. They were without Stephen Curry for a couple games and it definitely showed, with losses to the Grizzlies and Lakers, and were without Andre Iguodala against the red-hot Blazers.
Last night, they defeated the Pelicans in a game that went to the very end (102-101). So tonight's matchup will be the second night of a road back-to-back for the Dubs, with Iguodala still out "indefinitely" with a strained left hamstring sustained in the Lakers game.

Golden State might be known for its shooting (and they do lead the league in three point percentage) but the Mavericks are actually significantly ahead of them on average points scored per game. The Mavs come in at fourth in the league, while the Warriors check in at 11th.
Which team stat might determine the game?
Turnovers. The Mavericks have been especially turnover-prone lately, and Steph Curry, while he is a freak of shooting nature, is prone to making them. Golden State is also pretty short handed on experience at the backup point, with Toney Douglas and Iguodala both out with injuries. If the Mavs can play smart and limit their turnovers while taking advantage of a few on the other side, they'll have a fighting chance.
