WHO: The Dallas Mavericks host the Atlanta Hawks
WHAT: A battle between two teams that desperately need a win. The Hawks have lost 3 of 4 and the Mavericks need to back up ground on the 8th place Houston Rockets
WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas. TX
WHEN: 7:30 pm CT
HOW: FSSW | NBALP
THE STORY: Dallas enters tonight's game with a need to get on a bit of a run. The Mavericks sit at 22-28 and trail the 28-25 Houston Rockets for the West's final playoff spot. The Mavs started the home stand off nicely, with a giant win against the Warriors and a comeback against the Blazers. Both Portland and Golden State aren't playing well as of late so take those wins at face value. The Mavericks haven't turned a corner yet. Even though Dallas once again catches another team on a slide (Atlanta has lost 3 of 4) the Hawks are still a legit Eastern Conference playoff team with a dynamic back court (Jeff Teague/Devin Harris) and a very versatile and athletic front court (Josh Smith/Al Horford). The key will be the bench. Dallas has one of the highest scoring benches in the league and the Hawks reserves are suffering with Lou Williams injured. Atlanta heavily relies on its starters and the Mavericks can pull out a win if the second unit takes advantage. Check out Peachtree Hoops for more on the Hawks.
