Per every Maverick reporter in the universe, Chris Wright has signed his 10-day contract with Dallas.
Wright is the former Georgetown guard who had been making waves in the D-League with the Iowa Energy.
With the Energy, Wright averaged 15.5 points, 7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He isn't much of a shooter, with shooting splits of 42.9/29.3/75.5. But he got to the line a decent amount and showed some good half-court point guard skills.
There won't be much playing time for Wright, who will slide right into Dominique Jones' warm bench seat. Now that the Mavericks (30-33) are showing life, Rick Carlisle has more reason than ever to stick with the Mike James situation. But Wright's an interesting prospect and was one of the best D-League point guards this season (for whatever that's worth). Maybe he;ll get a shot to impress.
You also might have heard that Wright has M.S. He'll be the first NBA player ever to have it. Good luck to Wright and overcoming his condition but I seriously hope that isn't all Wright's NBA-stint is known for.
