Mavericks sign Justin Dentmon to 10-day

UPDATE (from Josh Bowe): Got the email this morning: Dentmon has officially signed his 10-day contract. Hooray.

Using the D-League for, I guess, what it intuitively seems like it should be used for, the Mavericks have signed the Texas Legends' best offensive player, Justin Dentmon, to a 10-day contract. The 2011-2012 D-League MVP, Dentmon is averaging 26 points in 22 games for the Legends this year, shooting 43% from the field and 34% from three. More encouraging is last year's 47%, 43% with the Austin Toros. Dentmon is also averaging 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

It is not altogether likely that Dentmon will see much playing time, but who knows.
